MBC were first involved with the work to save this grade 1 listed mansion in 2002 when we were awarded an emergency holding repair contract to replace slates, repair lead and flat roof areas, we also carried out extensive propping to stabilise roofs and ceilings.
We went back annually in an attempt to limit ongoing decay.
Due to a change in ownership it was decided to restore the house and grounds.
Initially we were involved in trials to ascertain the best way of repairing the external brickwork.
Following approval from English Heritage the house has been undergoing extensive restoration since 2011.
The attached pages give an indication of our involvement in the project.
